Telehealth has limits - and that matters.
Medicly doctors assess each patient individually and use their clinical judgement to determine what care is appropriate.
WHAT A CONSULTATION CAN’T GUARANTEE
Your doctor’s assessment determines whether you need:
- A prescription or particular medication
- A medical certificate
- A referral
- Pathology testing
- Any particular treatment
Some concerns require a physical examination, testing, procedures or urgent in-person care.
MEDICAL EMERGENCIES
Medicly is not an emergency medical service.
For a medical emergency or potentially life-threatening symptoms, call 000 for an ambulance or attend an Emergency Department.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is telehealth?
Telehealth allows you to consult with a healthcare professional remotely by phone or video rather than attending a clinic in person.
Whether telehealth is appropriate depends on your individual healthcare needs.
Do I need to be an existing Health Hub patient?
No. Medicly is available to patients across Australia, whether or not you’re an existing Health Hub patient.
Are consultations by phone or video?
Medicly provides both phone and video consultation options. Current options are shown on the Medicly website.
Can Medicly provide prescriptions, medical certificates or referrals?
A Medicly doctor may provide prescriptions, medical certificates, referrals or pathology requests where clinically appropriate following assessment.
None of these outcomes is guaranteed.
What happens if I need to be seen in person?
Your doctor may recommend face-to-face care if your healthcare concern cannot be appropriately assessed or managed remotely.
You can then arrange appropriate care through Health Hub where relevant or another healthcare provider.
